Partners in Time

All around the new Spring lay,
You and I had just met that day.
I was four and you were three,
Yet we knew it would ever be
You and I,
Partners in Time

Through Summers long we swim and fish
Until at last we get our wish
On a day warm, clear, and fine,
We join our lives, yours and mine.
Now its We,
Partners in Time

The years pour out as Autumn leaves.
In the air's a hint of freeze.
Side by side and hand in hand,
We sojourn through a changing land.
Here and There,
Partners in Time

With biting cold December blast,
Winter's come for us at last
Still, with you 'long side of me,
The cream of life will always be
Then and Now,
Partners in Time

And today I woke alone,
Wandered through our empty home
Now this life is fading fast,
And gently as I breathe my last,
Again and Forever,
Partners in Time
