Dragon

Dragon, dragon burning bright,
In the forest of the night.
Flaming snout, stinging tail,
Thund'rous wing, and gleaming scale.
Lonely remnant of elder race,
Iridescent denizen with sinuous grace.
Wing'ed terror with lightning claw,
Striking neck, and rapacious maw.
Ringing herald from days of yore,
Living fount of ancient lore.
Wisdom stored beyond all ken.
But, given not to timid men.
Deep in woodland, brave the flame
You may find him wise, but tame!?
Come now, join him here with me
He'll gladly boil you, ... a cup of tea!
