Benjamin married (1) Tabitha MALLISON daughter of Joseph MALLISON and Elizabeth STODDARD. Tabitha was born 11 Dec 1722 in Groton, Connecticut. She died after 1771. They had the following children:

Third Generation

Eli Widger came in with a large family from New London, Conn., about 1802, and settled in the west part of the town, on the farm now owned by the heirs of his son William who died in the spring of 1879. His wife went to live with her daughter, in Potter county, Pennsylvania, and died there. He was a man of excellent repute, though he was credited with having led the British troops who burned New London during the war of the Revolution. (History of Madison and Chenango County, p. 360)

Eli married (1) Lucy GREEN, daughter of Christopher GREENE and Mercy Mary STODDARD. Lucy was born 26 Feb 1766 in New London, Groton, Connecticut. She died in Hebron, Potter, Pennsylvania. They had the following children:
