1. How do you approve/deny patron purchase suggestions?

    From the Koha home page, click on Suggestions Pending Approval. Then click on the Pending tab. Then manage the purchase suggestions. If you click on Choose a reason, then Others, you can enter in your reason. Remember, this is visible to the patron.

  2. Where do you find  the reports for Annual Statistics?

    Because the tabs on the Koha Reports module are not fully functional, the easiest way to access any reports is to use the Reports Index on the CKLS website. Go here to find reports for Annual Statistics. 

  3. What do you do when you check in a book for a hold but no confirmation screen pops up?

    Check it in again.

  4. What do you do with all incoming items from the courier?

    Check them in!

  5. What do you do if you don’t know what to do with an item?

    Check it in!

  6. When is the only time you Check Out?

    When the patron screen is up and you are checking out an item to them, use Check Out.

  7. When Koha goes down, what’s the first thing to try before calling Maribeth or Gail?

    Quit the browser. Reopen the browser. Restart your computer. Clear the browser offline and online cache. Call CKLS or another library and ask if they are having trouble with Koha. Make a list of the troubleshooting steps you've taken and call Maribeth or Gail. (Other answers given at the meeting were: pull your hair out, start cursing, hand slap to the forehead...)

  8. When adding a new item, what should you do when the system brings up the error that the barcode must be unique?

    Search in Cataloging for that barcode- use your scanner to scan it in. This error is usually caused by a few things: you may have scanned in the wrong barcode when adding a new item, the barcode is probably attached to the wrong item.
